All newborn sessions take place in my commercial photography studio at Welland Workspace in Spalding. The studio is thoughtfully prepared to create a warm, quiet and comfortable environment for both baby and parents.

My approach to newborn photography is natural and baby-led. I focus on connection and gentle guidance rather than heavy props or complicated posing. Parents and siblings are included in every session, creating timeless family portraits alongside individual baby images.
I also have a small collection of baby outfits available for newborns up to 3 months old, and you are welcome to bring a meaningful keepsake such as a blanket or teddy.
When Is the Best Time for a Newborn Photography Session?
Many photographers recommend booking within the first 5–14 days, when babies are very sleepy and naturally curled.
While this is absolutely an option, there is no need to feel rushed.
My natural newborn sessions in my Spalding studio are relaxed and baby-led, and I welcome babies up to 6–8 weeks old — sometimes even a little older — depending on your preference.
Older newborns often:
• Are more settled into feeding routines
• Have clearer skin with less redness
• Have a lower chance of newborn jaundice
• Begin to show gentle expressions
• Start making eye contact
• May even offer their first little smiles
If you need extra time to recover from birth, adjust to parenthood or simply feel ready, that is completely fine. Your baby will still be beautifully photographed.
The most important thing is that you feel calm and prepared for your session.
Whether your baby is 10 days old or 6 weeks old, I will gently guide the session to capture timeless, natural images that reflect this special stage.
Preparing for Your Newborn Session
To help your session run smoothly, I recommend feeding your baby just before arriving at the studio or as soon as you arrive. A well-fed, settled baby allows us to move gently and naturally through the session.
Dress your baby in loose, easy-to-remove clothing to avoid marks on their skin. Neutral, simple outfits work beautifully for natural newborn photography, and I also have a small selection of baby outfits available at the studio for newborns up to 3 months old.
For parents and siblings, soft neutral tones and minimal patterns photograph best in my light, natural studio setting. I’m always happy to guide you with outfit choices at the beginning of your session.

Professional Editing & Online Gallery Delivery
After your newborn photoshoot, I carefully edit and prepare a minimum of 30 beautiful images using my signature preset, creating soft, natural tones that reflect my timeless editing style.
Within two weeks, you will receive access to your private online gallery. From there, you can view, select and download your chosen images from the comfort of your own home.
This allows you to head home immediately after your session and relax, knowing your photographs will be ready soon.
