Your cake smash experience begins at the time of booking. During the online booking process, you will select your preferred theme from my curated collection, allowing every detail to be thoughtfully prepared in advance for your baby’s first birthday celebration.

Once selected, your theme and colour palette are confirmed, ensuring your studio space is fully styled and ready for your arrival at my commercial studio in Spalding.
Professional decorations, cake, balloons and set styling are included within your session. You are welcome to bring additional outfits for variety, and a selection of baby outfits is also available in the studio to complement your chosen theme.
If your child has any allergies or specific requirements, kindly include this information during the booking process so your session can be prepared with care.
What to Expect During Your Session
Cake smash sessions last approximately 1–2 hours and are thoughtfully structured into three beautifully coordinated stages, allowing time for natural expressions, interaction and gentle breaks when needed.
1️⃣ Birthday Portraits
We begin with timeless first birthday portraits before the cake is introduced. This part of the session focuses on clean, beautifully styled images of your baby within the chosen set. Family and sibling photographs are included at this stage, creating meaningful images alongside the celebratory portraits.
2️⃣ The Cake Smash
Once portraits are complete, the cake is presented and your little one is encouraged to explore at their own pace. Whether they dive straight in or approach it with curiosity, I gently guide the moment to capture joyful expressions and natural reactions in a beautifully styled environment.
3️⃣ Splash Session
To finish, we move into a warm splash bath session — a playful and charming way to conclude the experience. This stage allows us to capture light-hearted, relaxed images while your baby enjoys washing away the cake.
Every session is baby-led and unhurried. We allow time for settling, cuddles and short pauses where needed, ensuring the experience feels calm and enjoyable for both baby and parents.

To ensure your baby feels relaxed and happy throughout the session, a little preparation can make all the difference.
• Try to schedule the session after a good nap
• Offer a light snack beforehand if needed (but avoid heavy meals immediately before the cake)
• Bring a towel for after the splash session

• Bring an additional outfit if you would like extra variety

From the comfort of your home, you’ll be able to view your full gallery, select your favourite images according to your chosen collection, and download your final photographs once your selection is complete.
